Update on Mike Molino RV Learning Center’s Jerry Greer Legacy Fund
A legacy fund established by friends of RVDA Past Chairman Jerry Greer benefiting the Mike Molino RV Learning Center has raised more than $6,000 as of early this month.
The fund honors Greer’s memory and his longtime service to the RV industry, the RVDA said.
In addition to his position as RVDA’s top elected volunteer leader in 1990-92, Greer served as the first chairman of the RVDA Education Foundation (now the Mike Molino RV Learning Center) and the RV Assistance Corporation (RVAC).
Greer, who passed away in February 2021, was the owner of Jerry Greer Airstream in Columbus, Ohio, and a 30-year member of RVDA. As a key RVDA leader in the 1980s through the 1990s, he was recognized as an advocate for making the RV sales process more customer-friendly and a driving force behind advancing outdoor recreation issues through his support of the American Recreation Coalition. His leadership guided and inspired dealers to become more professional through education.
According to the RVDA, Greer worked with other RVDA volunteer leaders and staff to develop the association’s first strategic plan and was part of the effort to purchase the association’s current headquarters building in Fairfax, Va. Greer was honored in 1995 with the James B. Summers award, RVDA’s highest honor, for his service to RV dealers and the association. He was inducted into the RV/MH Hall of Fame in 2005 for his outstanding industry leadership. Greer is survived by Rita, his wife of 52 years; brother Larry Greer; sister Sharon Smith; and nephew Phillip Greer.
