Event organizers and exhibitors are calling the recent 60th Caravan Salon a success.

The 10-day show held in Dusseldorf, Germany, ended late last week.

“185,000 visitors exceeded our expectations. With the unique combination of business platform and caravanning event, Caravan Salon confirms its prominent position in the sector. The atmosphere at the fairgrounds and in the halls was excellent. We are also very pleased that visitors again supported our proven hygiene concept this year,” said Erhard Wienkamp, managing director, operative trade fair business at Messe Düsseldorf.

The biggest RV show in Europe drew strong attendance over its 10-day run.

The percentage of first-time visitors was again high, at 41 percent, according to show organizers, who noted the event took place in special circumstances because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Show organizers said a total of 653 exhibitors from 31 countries presented their innovations and trends for the caravanning sector in 13 exhibition halls and the outdoor area.

“For its 60th anniversary, Caravan Salon presented itself in top shape, underscoring its status as the leading trade fair of the industry. At no other place can such a wide range of products, so many innovations and trends be seen as in Düsseldorf, Germany,” said Hermann Pfaff, president of the CVID, which presents the show.

Caravan Salon exhibitors also were very pleased and reported very good sales.

Despite COVID restrictions Caravan Salon reported a very strong turnout.

“Caravanning has become mainstream and is one of the forms of vacationing right now. Caravan Salon has shown once again that this industry is booming – and that Knaus Tabbert is booming,” said Wolfgang Speck, CEO at Knaus Tabbert.

“We rate this year’s Caravan Salon as extremely positive. The response – especially to our new products, Carthago chic c-line New Generation and Malibu Van diversity, was outstanding. Not only was the turnout high, but visitors were also very disciplined again,” said Bernd Wuschack, manager sales, marketing and customer care at the Carthago Group. “As a result, the atmosphere at our stands was very pleasant for the entire duration of the trade fair and marked primarily by high-quality conversations.”

Alexander Wottrich, CEO of the Truma Group, also gave a positive review: “Caravan Salon 2021 also proved extremely satisfactory for us and has clearly demonstrated that the caravanning world will be even more digital, global and fast-paced. Even and especially in pandemic times people are longing for more independence, freedom, nature, and time to disconnect.”

Meanwhile, planning has already begun for the 61st Caravan Salon, scheduled for Aug. 26 to Sept. 4, 2022, in Düsseldorf, Germany.
