Performance Brokerage Services Aids New Jersey Dealership Sale
California-based Performance Brokerage Services, which has offices across the country, said it recently advised on the sale of Toms River, N.J.’s Scott Motor Coach Sales to Campers Inn RV.
Scott Motor Coach Sales was founded by Brad Scott and his brother, Lee Scott, and currently features a 25,000-square-foot facility that sits on 10 acres, built in 2019.
“When I decided to sell and retire, it created a big dilemma for me,” Brad Scott said. “Who do I sell to? Who would be a good match for my dealership, my employees, and my customers? And if I sell, I want the new owners to take care of my customers and employees the way I do.
“Jesse Stopnitzky and Performance Brokerage Services found the perfect match for me with Campers Inn RV. By way of their reputation, both from customers and employees, Jeff Hirsch and Campers Inn RV have a similar business philosophy, making this a comfortable decision for me.
“Performance Brokerage Services was an excellent choice. … Their guidance through the entire process shows their strength and longevity in helping owners make the right choice in selling their dealerships. If you are considering selling an RV dealership, I recommend them very highly.”
Terms of the sale were not made public.
Campers Inn RV, established in 1966 by the Hirsch Family, said it is the nation’s largest family-operated dealership group. Operating out of 30 dealership locations across the East Coast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest, this acquisition marks their first dealership in New Jersey.
“Performance Brokerage Services, and working with Jesse Stopnitzky in particular, has been a seamless process,” said Jeff Hirsch, CEO of Campers Inn. “We felt that they helped facilitate this transaction in a professional manner, but also allowed us – as the buyer – to ensure that we got to know the seller on a personal level. By doing this, we were able to ensure the financial aspects of the transaction were handled while also understanding the intangibles.”
Regarding its new store, Hirsch said that his company found Scott Motor Coach Sales “has an excellent reputation in the market. The organization, led by Brad Scott, is well regarded by its customers, a preferred place to work, and also respected by the manufacturers.”
He added that since it’s his company’s first New Jersey dealership, it will not only allow it to serve RVers in the Garden State, but also those traveling along the eastern seaboard.
