Black Book: Wholesale Values Drop Slightly With Rising Temperatures
July results for Black Book’s monthly report show after two consecutive months of increases, average values for motorhomes and towables sold at wholesale auctions reversed course and declined slightly last month.
“Overall volume was down moderately as well, with regard to both units offered and percentage sold. Some dealers may be shifting their focus to new units as the first wave of 2025 models begin to appear on their lots,” said Eric Lawrence, principal analyst.
Taking a closer look at the markets, the average selling price for motorized units was $58,411 which is down $820 (1.4%) from the previous month. Towables came in at $19,389, down $217 (1.1%) from last month. One year ago, the average motorhome sold for $73,393 and the average towable unit brought $21,362.
Auction volume was down: motorhomes decreased 7.9% while towables dropped 15.3%.
