Ashley Bontrager Lehman Recognized With Entrepreneur Award
Ember Recreational Vehicles announced that its owner and CEO Ashley Bontrager Lehman will be honored with the prestigious Havilah Beardsley Recognition for Young Entrepreneur (under 40) at the 9th Annual Elkhart County Business Legacy Hall of Fame Gala on Oct. 19.
The award recognizes outstanding young entrepreneurs under 40 who have shown exceptional innovation, leadership and success in creating and growing new businesses. Lehman’s leadership of Ember Recreational Vehicles, which she founded in 2021, has already left a significant mark on the RV industry. Her vision for the company has centered on building a company that provides a fulfilling place of employment for its team members and creates innovative recreational vehicles with a strong focus on customer-centric features.
Lehman’s entrepreneurial journey is deeply rooted in her family’s legacy. She is one of the granddaughters of Lloyd and Bertha Bontrager, the founders of Jayco. Her exposure to the RV industry from a young age shaped her passion for and knowledge of the RV industry. Over the years, Lehman gained extensive experience in marketing, sales and leadership, which culminated in the start of Ember.
Ember RV has grown under her leadership, becoming known for its focus on innovative designs that cater to a wide range of customers from the weekender campers to the outdoor enthusiasts and substantial after-the-sale owner support. With its commitment to craftsmanship and quality, Ember is focused on challenging the status quo and setting new standards with Lehman guiding the company to success across both the U.S. and Canadian markets.
In addition to her work at Ember, Lehman serves on the board of the RV Industry Association (RVIA), contributing to the advancement of the RV industry through policy development and industry standards. Her involvement with RVIA exemplifies her dedication to shaping the future of the RV industry.
The Havilah Beardsley Recognition, named after one of Elkhart’s most influential founders, celebrates the spirit of entrepreneurship that has driven the local economy for generations. The award recognizes Lehman as a leader who is carrying forward this tradition and making her own mark on Elkhart’s history.
Upon learning about the award, Lehman expressed her gratitude by stating, “I am honored to be recognized with this award in a community that has supported me and my family for many years. This recognition is a reflection of the incredible hard work and commitment of the entire Ember team. I look forward to continuing to work hard on making a positive impact on our local community and the RV industry.”
