Enhance RV Interiors With Thomas Payne Signature Furniture
A veritable stalwart in the RV industry, Thomas Payne Signature furniture is still finding ways to innovate.
Ranging from theater seating, jackknife sofas, dinettes and recliners to mattresses, bedding and more, the brand offers a variety of colors and fabrics to match a variety of styles.
When looking to replace aging furniture or increase the sleeping capacity of an RV — or with new empty nesters, taking out something like bunk beds — RVers can look to Thomas Payne Signature for new furniture solutions that help them reimagine the current floorplan. The furniture can also come in handy if an RVer is looking to outfit unused space, such as the garage area of a toy hauler, which could become an office or hobby space.
Because this furniture is made for RVs specifically, the size restrictions of an RV is kept in mind, in addition to keeping pieces lightweight and multifunctional with additional storage built in where possible.
Durability is also a major consideration — Thomas Payne Signature’s furniture is available in a PolyHyde vinyl fabric, which can be cleaned easily and has a seven-year Hydrolysis limited warranty (Hydrolysis is the breakdown of material due to heat or humidity).

The Thomas Payne Signature website describes its furniture as “modern design” that is built for comfort and boasts “adaptable functionality.”
Here, RV PRO asked Lippert’s Julie Bethel-Welker, director, aftermarket sales interior, for more about the furniture line.
RVP: What are OEMs or consumers asking for?
Bethel-Welker: Consumers ask what will fit in their slideout — we have a sell sheet that will give them all the dimensions. They also ask if our [aftermarket] furniture won’t be too heavy for their slide. Our answer is yes; it’s just the correct weight. We not only manufacture the furniture, but we also manufacture the slideouts.
Thorough dimensions of each furniture piece are listed online, including preassembled dimensions, overall dimensions, reclined depth (if needed) and overall weight. The size of the door clearance needed is also listed.
RVP: What color trends have you seen in the past couple of years, and what’s to come for 2026?

Bethel-Welker: I had dark browns in the collection leading up to 2026 [and] I was seeing colors changing to the lighter brown in [OEM’s units], so I tried it with Satula in the new collection. Typically, the color trends follow in [aftermarket] three years behind the OEMs. Driftwood and McCoy are the most popular — McCoy is a gray colorway, and Driftwood is a light brown colorway with dark brown movement in the material.
RVP: Tell me about some of the technological advances that have become “must-haves” — what’s in high demand?
Bethel-Welker: The Seismic [line of furniture] is a must-have for retailers. They have theater seats with heat and massage, but I added an adjustable headrest and lumbar, along with power accessories. Retail loves the piece when they first see it and often change out new furniture for the Seismic when they see all the features we have.
Theater seating in the Seismic line includes power adjustable lumbar and headrest, reclining, heating and massage. It also has an LED cupholder with USB-C port, an LED strip under the recliner, a power port for add-on accessories and the option of a 5-inch or 12-inch center console with storage compartments, cupholders and pop-up outlet.
RVP: Tell us more about the PolyHyde fabric — what are its advantages?

Bethel-Welker: Warranty is big for retailers. They want furniture that will last — the care of the furniture is just as important. When you [use an] RV, you are putting chemicals on your skin that you normally wouldn’t use and then sit down in your house — suntan lotion, bug spray, etc. So wiping down the furniture is necessary. But also having the Hydrolysis limited warranty is necessary as well. We started with a five-year Hydrolysis warranty in 2021, and we launched the seven-year Hydrolysis in 2025.
RVP: Have you seen any of your costs go up this year? If so, how is that affecting pricing or business in general?
Bethel-Welker: The industry has seen cost pressures due to supply chain dynamics, inflation, [etc.]. Lippert will continue to adapt and innovate despite rising costs.
RVP: Are there any other innovations that we should know about?
Bethel-Welker: We do offer a lounger in the Clickback sofa. The legs automatically deploy unlike the traditional trifold sofa. And the backrest clicks in four different positions; it’s becoming quite popular. We do listen to retail customers and always take their opinions into account when designing the new collection.
