ELKHART, Ind. – After a busy Monday that caught some exhibitors off-guard with how many dealers showed up early and ready to do business, the eighth annual Elkhart Open House Week got even busier on the first official day Tuesday.
Dealers swarmed the Forest River Dynamax facility as well as the Thor exhibit on the RV/MH Hall of Fame grounds and assorted dealers spread out on Executive Parkway approaching the Hall.
First-time exhibitor Aluminum Trailer Co. gave potential dealers their first look at the company’s toy hauler products. ATC has been in the cargo trailer industry for about 15 years, but is entering the RV market and hopes to have more products ready to introduce in time for the RV Industry Association’s Louisville show, according to product manager Ian Kettering.
Travel Lite President Dustin Johns said he was surprised how many dealers came to his display Monday while he was still setting up. The travel trailer/truck camper manufacturer had a steady stream of customers just before noon Tuesday, as well.
Thor’s exhibit area also was a flurry of activity with dealers looking for special offers.
Forest River capped off the evening with about 500 people attending the dinner and party held at the Dynamax plant. A Rolling Stones cover band Satisfaction started off the music, followed by Beatles cover band 1964 the Tribute, which has been called, “The best Beatles tribute band on earth,” by Rolling Stone Magazine.
