Hicks is Johnston RV Center’s controller – she oversees all operational accounting and financial functions of the business. She manages all internal controls and ensures the health of the company by protecting its assets through informed, careful decision-making.
In what ways has the nominee gone above and beyond for her company or organization?
We wouldn’t be anywhere near where we are as a company without Hicks. In addition to her everyday duties, she works to ensure employee well-being on various levels. She saw us through the difficult days of the pandemic when only very few of us were able to remain, creating a task force that kept our business informed, compliant and ultimately successful while our doors were closed. Upon returning to the office, she implemented an annual employee appreciation month that takes place each October. She’s a figure of this company who year after year remains a positive, influential force to employees new and not so new.
What does the nominee add to her company’s culture?
It’s so important to Hicks that people feel seen and feel recognized for their effort as well as secure that their employment at Johnston RV Center is organized and fair. Our employees know their PTO and paychecks, to name a few, are safe in her hands. Hicks bolsters employees annually with a monthlong employee appreciation month that is packed with friendly competition, contests, treats and bonus opportunities. Hicks also coordinates charitable efforts for Johnston RV Center with local businesses that provide relief and supplies for those in need. She’s humble, honest and approachable. Our culture has thrived with her in leadership at Johnston RV Center.
