The following report is from WSBT-TV in South Bend, Ind.

One of the largest employers in our area is looking for workers.

Lippert Components is just the latest company that’s dealing with the national worker shortage.

With facilities throughout Elkhart, Goshen, and South Bend, Lippert has more than 200 jobs ready to be filled. Partnering with La Casa De Amistad, a recent job fair allowed people to walk in and interview.

With more than 11,000 workers worldwide, the workforce shortage has hit Lippert as well.

They’ve been offering incentives to fill the gaps.

“We have a referral bonus that we provide to our team members,” said Miguel Robledo, Lippert leader in training. “So, if they refer a friend to come and work, after 90 days I get $500 just for that referral.”

The next approach is reaching out to the community and offering a chance to apply and get hired immediately.
