2022 Florida RV SuperShow Opens to New Record

Florida SuperShow

The 2022 Florida RV SuperShow at the state fairgrounds in Tampa noted that day one saw more than 20,000 come through the gates, which was a new opening day record for the show.

“Perfect weather and a pent-up demand resulted in a record opening day crowd,” said Florida RV Trade Association Executive Director Dave Kelly. “We had a number of concessions run out of items due to the record attendance and the seminars were standing room only. If the weather holds through the weekend, we expect to see huge crowds for four more days.”

Booth exhibitors reported they were busy from opening to closing. Many reported strong sales unlike any other year, Kelly said.

“With so many new RVers, they all are in need of parts and accessories, and they came to buy,” he said.

The Florida Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (FARVC) gave out hundreds of their new campground directories.

“So many people are first timers that they are hungry for information about Florida campgrounds,” said Jennifer Chrysan Johnson of FARVC.

Concept vehicles were a hit at the show with Thor and Winnebago displaying their new all-electric Class B vans. nuCamp also unveiled their prototype Barefoot trailer. New technology and electronics were also a big hit at the show. Off-road vehicles were also on display with Storyteller and Black Series Campers featuring units designed to be taken off the beaten path.

The Florida RV SuperShow continues through Sunday, Jan. 23.
