27North Expands Lineup With New Expedition Truck
27North is expanding its lineup with the TR-27 expedition truck.
Company officials said the TR-27 is a luxury off-road motorhome built on a Ram 5500 4×4 chassis and designed for extended travel in remote and extreme environments.
The TR-27 features a composite camper structure with high-performance insulation, double-pane windows, diesel heating and a 48-volt air-conditioning system that the company says enables operation in temperatures ranging from minus 25 to 125 degrees Fahrenheit.
The vehicle carries a 19,500-pound gross vehicle weight rating and offers up to 10,000 pounds of towing capacity. It is equipped with LiquidSpring adaptive suspension with automated leveling, along with 40-inch tires, reinforced exterior protection and integrated recovery equipment intended to improve off-road capability.
Inside, the TR-27 is configured to seat and sleep up to five occupants, including a king-size primary bed and a convertible queen sleeping area.
For off-grid use, the truck integrates three 5 kWh lithium batteries, solar charging and a 3,600-watt inverter managed through centralized digital controls. The water system includes a 50-gallon fresh tank, 20-gallon gray tank, interior shower and on-demand hot water.
Customers are able to customize the interior and exterior finishes and appearances.
