New Mexico-based RV service and accessory center Action RV was successfully granted three trademarks on July 9 by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Action RV is an independent service, repair, parts and accessory center and has been using the trade name “Action RV” in daily commerce since 1987. Since then, other “Action RVs” have popped up in the U.S., according to the company, one as close as Santa Fe, N.M. Over the years, Action RV has been confused with other unaffiliated Action RVs by both consumers and suppliers.
Action RV is planning to scale into multiple locations and realized the importance of protecting the name, brand, logo and the slogan. In November 2018, Mark Podeyn, president of Action RV, applied for the three trademarks.
In an effort to protect both the consumer and the company, Podeyn felt that “it was time to apply for the trademarks Action RV makes promises to its customers that are very unique in the RV industry,” he said. “Our customers expect a certain level of service and we do not want potential customers to confuse other Action RVs with our brand and brand offerings.”
