Bob Wheeler, president and CEO of Airstream, has been named to the volunteer board of directors of the National Forest Foundation (NFF).

“I’m honored to lend my support to the National Forest Foundation, which plays such an important role in supporting our National Forests,” said Wheeler. “Airstreamers are frequent visitors to these pristine outdoor spaces, and our community has a long tradition of giving back to the places we love.”

Airstream’s parent company, Thor Industries, recently made a $50,000 donation to the NFF. Thor is one of the world’s largest manufacturer of RV.

“Thor understands that we are part of an outdoor adventure ecosystem of people and places,” said Bob Martin, Thor president and CEO. “Americans derive so much pleasure and benefit from our National Forests. We’re pleased to help reciprocate by supporting these natural treasures.”

The National Forest Foundation was chartered by Congress as the official non-profit partner of the U.S. Forest Service. Its mission is to help the Forest Service care for the nation’s forests for the benefit of future generations. The NFF raises funds from individuals and businesses, like Thor Industries, and engages Americans in community-based and national programs that promote the health and public enjoyment of the 154 National Forests and 20 National Grasslands.

“We are proud to welcome Mr. Wheeler to the NFF’s Board,” said Mary Mitsos, president and CEO of the NFF. “Thor Industries’ generous donation to the NFF will enable us to make an even bigger impact on the landscapes that its customers enjoy. We are excited to continue to work with Thor Industries and Airstream to highlight the values and benefits these landscapes provide to us all.”
