Alabama Touts New RV Park Construction
The RV park business continues to steadily grow in Alabama, driven partly – but not mostly – by the surge popularity surge in RVing. But that’s not the only reason.
State officials also cite construction of new businesses, such as Amazon’s new facilities in Huntsville, Montgomery and Birmingham, along with the expansion of existing factories that serve everything from biotech to defense, aerospace and automotive industries. In those cases, the RV parks often serve as temporary places to live for the construction workers.
“There is a lot of economic activity taking place in Alabama and that, coupled with a moderate climate similar to that of northwest Florida as well as access to many natural features such as Gulf Beaches in the Southern part of the state and mountains in the Northern part, has increased demand for RV sites for both leisure and business travel,” said Thomas Sparrow, chairman of the Florida and Alabama RV Park and Campground Association, which hosts two travel planning websites, CampInAlabama.com and CampFlorida.com.
