All Good Equipment Co. Touts ‘Pint-Sized Luxury’ Teardrop Trailers

All Good Equipment Co., a family-owned small business based in the San Francisco Bay Area, is redefining what it means to travel light and travel well, the company said in a recent release. From their workshop in San Carlos, the company designs and builds handcrafted teardrop trailers that are practical and built for adventure, whether it’s a weekend getaway or a coast-to-coast road trip.

The vision for All Good Equipment began as a personal passion project. Founder Matt Bettman, a career industrial designer, spent two years of weekends and evenings meticulously designing and building the first trailer for his family’s camping trips across California. What started as a one-off creation quickly evolved into a full-fledged business after friends, neighbors and fellow adventurers took notice.

Bettman designed the trailer around three core principles:

  • Lightweight: Weighing in at just 1,060 pounds, the trailer can be towed by almost any vehicle — even an old VW bus. Its low weight also allows campers to maneuver it by hand, making campsite setup a breeze, the company said.
  • Simplicity: Drawing on years of experience living aboard boats, Bettman knew the value of simple, reliable systems. The All Good trailer was intentionally designed to avoid complexity and reduce stress.
  • Comfort: Despite its compact footprint, the trailer offers what the team calls “pint-sized luxury,” maximizing comfort and function in a small space.

After refining the design through real-world use and building additional models, All Good Equipment Co. was officially launched. The company said its mission is to craft welcoming, well-built teardrop trailers using sustainable materials that can stand the test of time.

Each trailer is made with responsibly sourced materials, including FSC-certified BS1088 marine plywood (specifically okoume wood, prized for its strength-to-weight ratio) and minimally processed sheep’s wool insulation that naturally regulates temperature and moisture. The company said it avoids fiberglass and plastics wherever possible, opting for durable, natural materials that age gracefully rather than contribute to long-term environmental waste.

“All Good” isn’t just a name — it’s a guiding principle, All Good Equipment Co. said. The company builds each trailer with the goal of helping people disconnect from the noise of modern life and reconnect with nature, whether that means heading into the forest, rolling down a fire road or parking by the sea.

“We wanted to create something that makes it easier for people to escape the chaos of everyday life — something that works beautifully, feels good to use, and won’t let you down,” said Bettman. “We build these trailers the way we’d build them for our own family: thoughtfully, sustainably and with as little compromise as possible.”

Teardrop trailers from All Good Equipment Co. are available for purchase at $22,500. Orders are accepted year-round, and trailers are also available for short-term rentals. The company hosts an Open House every third Thursday of the month, inviting the community and camper-curious to experience the trailers in person.
