Alliance RV Acquires Midwest Automotive Designs as Entry to Motorized Segment
Alliance RV, a leading manufacturer of towable RVs, announced the acquisition of Midwest Automotive Designs, a premium custom van “upfitter” that develops and manufactures luxury vehicles for end segments including motorhomes, shuttle vans and customized executive transportation vehicles.
This acquisition marks Alliance RV‘s strategic entry into the motorized segment of the RV industry with Midwest’s Class B RVs and multiple products for the luxury Limousine, Charter and Tour (LCT) bus markets, respectively.
Headquartered in Elkhart, Indiana, Midwest Automotive Designs custom builds RVs and LCT vans primarily on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis. Since its inception in 2003, the company has grown to over 200 employees with combined manufacturing and office space exceeding 150,000 square feet.
Commenting on the acquisition, Alliance RV co-founder Ryan Brady said, “Over the past 20-plus years, Midwest has been dedicated to manufacturing premium, high-end luxury vehicles and has developed a distinct reputation for quality, service and product innovation. The acquisition of Midwest aligns with our strategy to broaden and strengthen Alliance’s RV offering. We look forward to leveraging the vast resources at Alliance RV to build on the incredible platform that Midwest has established to usher in the next chapter of growth.”
Midwest will operate as a separate business unit within Alliance RV and its manufacturing facilities will remain in Elkhart, Indiana, approximately six miles from the existing Alliance RV campus. Its 200 employees will become part of the Alliance organization and will be a key driver in Midwest’s future growth.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome the Midwest Automotive Designs team to the Alliance family,” said Coley Brady, co-founder of Alliance RV. “Midwest is an excellent company with a fantastic product offering. Our goal is to take that foundation and apply the Alliance RV difference, focusing heavily on customer experience, feedback-driven design and an unwavering commitment to our dealers. We look forward to applying the Alliance standard of excellence to the Midwest organization.”
