Decatur, Ind.-based REV Recreation Group, a subsidiary of REV Group Inc., announced the 2020 recipients of the American Coach Association (ACA) Scholarship Foundation. The ACA Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit (501-C3) foundation that seeks to advance higher learning opportunities for the children and grandchildren of REV Recreation Group employees. All scholarships are entirely funded from club member donations.

Since 2007, the ACA has presented $1,000 scholarships, based on academic excellence, to up to ten deserving graduating seniors from local high schools in Decatur. This year and for the second time, the ACA committee selected nine recent graduates for the $1,000 scholarship, and one top recipient to be given the new Randy Hendricks Scholarship, worth $2,000. Randy, known as the ‘go to guy’ for all things technical, retired from REV Recreation Group in 2019 after 29 years of service.

Scholarship recipient Shaelyn Thomas with her grandfather and American Coach employee Doug Steffen. Shaelyn is attending Purdue University Fort Wayne this fall to study marketing.

Applicants must submit their high school transcripts as well as three recommendation letters from teachers and people in the community who are in the position to speak to the candidate’s capabilities and unique characteristics.

“With admirable career ambitions from this year’s beneficiaries including a veterinarian doctor, a first-grade teacher, a speech language pathologist and a doctor of dental medicine, we’re thrilled to help support American Coach employees’ children and grandchildren in achieving their dreams,” said Bob Carani, vice president, American Coach Association Scholarship Foundation. “We are grateful to our club members who have donated to the scholarship foundation and given a helping hand to American Coach’s employees and their families.”
