Atlanta-Based Tech Company Starting to Make RV Inroads

A company that started off in the powersports world has been making some large strides in the RV industry since entering that market two years ago.

Atlanta-based Digital Power Solutions was formed in 2015 by Steve Moore, a veteran of the automotive industry where he had made a name for himself by converting website visits to dealerships into firm leads for the dealers, something that was still very much a niche market when he got into it 15 years ago.

Most recently however, Moore served as the southeast regional director for Black Book, an automotive data and analytics company. That’s where he got the idea to launch his own company and did that five years ago when he partnered with Chris Purser, who serves as chief technology officer and chief experience officer.

Digital Power Solutions’ first product was called TRADE CYCLE, and it was geared toward the powersports market.
With software designed by Purser, the pair began working with their first powersports dealer in 2015.

“After the success and growth to over 250 dealer partners nationwide in our first three years, I knew we’d created a lasting lead conversion solution dealers can rely on,” said Moore, CEO of digital power solutions. “We then took a hard look at the RV industry, how dealers are utilizing their website, and what changes needed to be made to TRADE CYCLE to ensure the same website customer engagement impact for RV dealers as the tool did for our powersports dealers.”

Tweaking the product’s functionality to suit the RV market, the company launched TRADE CYCLE RV, and signed up Fort Worth, Texas-based United RV as its first client in 2018.

“We generated over 240 quality leads in our first four months,” said Kevin White, owner of White’s RV. “We’re converting these leads into sales, averaging five additional sales per month since partnering with Digital Power Solutions. We’re able to market the tool on our social media to generate additional leads. They’re easy to do business with, and it was a seamless implementation process to our website and CRM.”

In the two years since, TRADE CYCLE RV has been adopted by clients from coast to coast, including Fun Town RV in Texas and Oklahoma, Blue Dog RV in California and Washington, Flagg RV in Massachusetts, RV Outlet USA in South Carolina and Virginia, Good Life RV in Iowa, and Northgate RV Center in Georgia.

“We’ve been partnered with DPS for nearly a year now and are more than satisfied with TRADE CYCLE RV and its customized appraisal process. We generated 246 TRADE CYCLE RV Leads in May for our five locations,” said Steven Deffenbaugh, corporate director of operations at Dixie RV Superstores. “Leads come with vehicle photos, and with the most important financial info. This tool is working 24/7/365 for us. DPS guaranteed me TRADE CYCLE RV would convert more web visitors into customer opportunities and that’s exactly what it’s done for us at Dixie RV Superstores.”

TRADE CYCLE RV also helps fill inventory gaps for dealers, because every engagement opportunity from the website appraisal system comes from an RV owner.

“Inventory shortages are a major issue for dealers across the country,” said Charlie Moore, Digital Power Solution’s director of sales and the son of the company founder. “RV dealers are searching for used inventory to meet this demand, the prices are taking a big jump at auctions right now. Why pay inflated auction prices when RV owners can sell directly to you or trade-in?”

Dealers can utilize customizable wholesale and retail data value ranges from Black Book or NADA guides within TRADE CYCLE RV, which accurately sets the expectation for potential RV sellers and trade-ins.

“In the digital world we live in, RV owners are doing their own research which sometimes brings them to find misleading info,” Charlie Moore said. “A major benefit of TRADE CYCLE RV (is) dealers have complete control of the data provider and the values they choose within the system. Dealers can display wholesale/retail values or even run various ranges making sure the system fits each and every dealership’s specific needs.”

Of the 400 dealer partners Digital Power Solutions has worked with since its launch, about 100 of those are RV dealers and the company expects that market to become the its fastest-growing, Charlie Moore said.

Digital Power Solutions plans to continue its growth with TRADE CYCLE RV through its dealer referral program and sharing dealer success stories, he added.

“We have a referral program in place for our dealer partners to take advantage of. Organic growth is the best growth. We’re a small company and want to ensure we’re growing at a rate to always maintain the best service and support possible to our existing dealer base.
