Australian Teardrop Trailer Offers ‘More for Less’

The following is report from Auto Evolution.

Size matters in the RV industry, but it can ironically work against you if you’re looking for that extra tingling of adventure. Wotpods promises to offer a workaround for this paradoxical situation with a lineup of teardrop trailers that offer “more for less.”

Wotpods is an Australia-based, family-run company with a stated focus on quality work, a reliable network of support for customers, and what can only be described as the holy grail of teardrops: the most functionality in the most compact form factor.

Their approach, the whole “more for less” idea, isn’t new, and Wotpods doesn’t claim it is. But they promise their offer is of the kind you can’t refuse, once you’ve decided that a teardrop is the right companion for you.

The same minimalist approach is apparent in the composition of their lineup. As of this writing, Wotpods offers only three standard models, with two of them being variations of the original Wotapod that we covered earlier this year. The Q-Pod and the Bosspod are basically one step up each from the Wotapod while offering some customization options, too.

The Bosspod is, as its name implies, the boss of the lot. Wotpods describes it as “the big end of town, basking in just about every option we could throw at it.” This makes it taller, more spacious, and better equipped for whatever adventures you have in mind — including off-road, though those will need a bit more upgrading beforehand.

Unlike bigger RVs, teardrop trailers have somewhat limited appeal overall because of their compact footprint, which oftentimes means sacrificing basic creature comforts for mobility. It’s the irony we hinted at at the beginning of this text: the bigger the RV, the heavier it is, and mobility is affected. Alternatively, if you choose a lightweight package to go wherever you want, you’ll have to compromise on features and comfort.

The Bosspod does its best to bypass this, throwing in every basic requirement and, in the process, fashioning itself as the kind of compact RV even the most pretentious traveler might consider, if not actually embrace.

Built on a steel frame and galvanized chassis, the Bosspod comes with aluminum panels and full insulation throughout, which makes it a year-round RV.
