Bandit Nabs RV from Oregon Dealership
Images from surveillance video show a man suspected of swiping an RV from a Portland, Ore., dealership.
This story originally appeared on KATU News 2.
The video came from Family Fun RV on Southeast 82nd between Taylor and Morrison.
Early Wednesday morning, around 2 a.m., the alarm there went off. A man had smashed his way in, grabbed the keys to an RV and then used the computer to match the keys to the right vehicle. He then backed out of a tight space and drove off.
The owner, Heather Harrison, said the man had clearly done this before.
“It just looked like he had absolutely done this before. He knew exactly what he was doing,” she said. “I feel like he was at our store at some point and maybe came in to look for an RV and kind of played that card, because he knew where everything was in our store. It was just too easy for him.”
Harrison thinks the suspect came in earlier and cased the dealership.
In all, she’s dealing with about $25,000 in losses.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Portland police.
