Battle Born Batteries Launches Heated Version of GC2 Battery
The Battle Born Batteries heated battery lineup continues to expand with the launch of the BBGC2H.
The BBGC2H provides 100 amp-hours of 12-volt power in a 6V golf cart battery form factor. Normally, Battle Born lithium-ion batteries will stop accepting a charge at 25°F but will continue to discharge electricity down to –4°F. The Battle Born team worked to integrate a heated solution so users can go on any cold weather adventure they want, without worrying about the cold. The Battle Born battery management system prevents cold temperature charging to avoid damaging the battery. With a heating element inside the battery, the charge and discharge restrictions have been expanded by incorporating a low-draw, internal heating system to combat external cold.
Deep-cycle LiFePO4 batteries are capable of being discharged to 100 percent of its rated capacity every time. It can also be charged five times faster than the standard lead-acid battery. Battle Born Batteries allow customers greater flexibility for what they can power and how they install their battery systems, the company said, providing a level of energy independence that other batteries cannot offer.
The BBGC2H is built to last 10 to 15 years and is backed by a 10-year warranty. The LiFePO4 technology packs double the power in the same physical space as a lead-acid battery. With this product, the BBGC2H can used in sub-freezing temperatures.
