Bauer Products has opened a distribution center in Elkhart, Ind.
Bauer Products, a door handle supplier, is opening a fully functioning warehouse at 28244 Clay Street. The 19,750-square-foot facility provides a local distribution center for the RV industry.
“We needed a solution to better serve our Elkhart customers,” said Bruce Bacon, president of Engineering. “The RV and horse trailer business has grown to an explosive point and our Grand Rapids headquarters is bursting at the seams. This was the best option for all involved.”
The plan is to have a fully functional warehouse near the customers to meet the increasing quantity demands of the OEMs and on-time delivery agreements, according to the company. Daren Rathbun has taken the position of managing this facility. Rathbun has a tremendous skillset and experience base in the RV industry, according to the company. He has worked building RVs for OEMs, repairing RVs at the dealership level, and as a customer relations/technical specialist in the RV aftermarket.
“We are very pleased to add Daren to our team,” said Bacon. “I doubt we will have time to have an official open house, but we are open to show anyone. … Our family of products and customers is growing. We feel blessed to be a supplier.”
