Beyond Inc., a newly launched provider of payment processing and other business services, today announced its acquisition of long-time industry software and consulting firm Rainmaker Consulting, based in Davenport, Iowa.

Rainmaker, founded in 1976 as Judy Carr and Associates, provides software and consulting services to retailers of RVs, manufactured and modular housing, and specialty trailers.

All of Rainmaker’s former operations, products and contracts will remain in place, and all Rainmaker employees have become employees of Beyond’s Dealership Management division.

“This is the best-case scenario for our employees and our customers,” said Chad Carr, former president of Rainmaker, who will join Beyond as the director of dealership management. “The acquisition by Beyond gives us access to expertise and financial resources that we could never have imagined. The Beyond leadership team is 100 percent committed to providing our retailers with the exceptional service that Rainmaker has always offered, while expanding Beyond’s offerings to serve them even better.”

Judy Carr, who earned a reputation as a pioneer during her four decades in the industry, passed away unexpectedly in April 2016.

“We had a great team, but we could not replace Judy’s energy, passion and expertise without outside help,” said Chad Carr. “Through this acquisition, we can keep our customers happy, improve our products, increase our training, testing, and development, and grow our product support team. We see nothing but positives and are excited for our future.”

Robert Carr – who built Heartland Payment Systems (HPY) from a $2 million startup in 1997 to a $4.3 billion enterprise – launched Beyond in May to offer small and medium-sized business a trusted, reliable partner to help them handle a wide range of business operations affordably, without sacrificing security and customer service.
