Industry Mourns Bill Stewart, Former RVTI Director of Education

It is with deep sadness that the RV Industry Association (RVIA) shared the news of the passing of team member and friend, Bill Stewart.

In his role as director of education at the RV Industry Association and RV Technical Institute (RVTI), Stewart was a valued member of the team. He was widely known for his kindness, dedication and a positive energy he brought to every interaction. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of working alongside him. Stewart carried much pride in giving of himself and teaching others, and his teaching impacted thousands of people and RV technicians over his more than 40 years in the RV industry.

William Stephen Stewart’s Obituary

William “Bill” S. Stewart, age 67, of Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, after a brief illness. He was born on May 27, 1957 in Canton to the late William D.G. Stewart and Lucy (Stewart) Evans.

Bill dedicated over 40 years of his life to the automotive and RV industry, traveling across the country to train RV technicians. His passion for his work was matched only by his love for singing at church and spending quality time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Known affectionately as “Dr. Bill,” he was always ready to lend a hand, whether it was fixing a car or tackling home maintenance issues. His generous spirit and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Bill is survived by his wife, Peggy; his children, Steven (Tracie), Patrick (Lanie), and Megan (A.J.); his grandchildren, Aiden, Nathan, Brynne, Tyler, Emmy and Brody; his sisters, Ginger Muller (Bob) and Darlamarrie Dorsey (Rob); his brother- and sister-in-law David and Tami Allan, along with many cherished family, friends and work colleagues.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 5pm at Reed Funeral Home NORTH CANTON Chapel (801 Pittsburg Ave. NW, North Canton, OH 44720). Calling hours will be Wednesday prior to the service, from 3pm to 5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Home Church (1639 Sperry Lane SE, Canton, OH 44709) where Bill participated in the music ministry.
