Black Book: Spring’s Arrival Finds Wholesale RV Prices Mixed
Spring has arrived in many parts of the country, and eager customers are beginning to flock to dealers’ showrooms. Motorhome values bounced back this month after three months of declines, but towables gave back some of the gains they notched last month,” said Eric Lawrence at Black Book, in his most recent monthly report. “Inflation and gas prices remain high, and the war in Ukraine has a lot of people concerned, but the dealers we have spoken to report normal showroom traffic.”
Taking a closer look at the markets, we see that the average selling price for motorized units was $76,332 which is up $7,490 (10.8 percent) from the previous month. Towables came in at $20,938, down $927 (4.2 percent) from last month. One year ago the average motorhome sold for $59,092 and the average towable unit brought $20,371.
Auction volume was mixed: motorhomes increased 19.1 percent while towables dipped 3.8 percent.
The average age of motorhomes was thirteen years old (2009) and towables was six (2016).
