Wholesale RV values remain mixed as warmer weather and the first day of spring creeps closer.
“The wholesale auction results of RVs sold last month were mixed, with motorhomes’ values decreasing and towables’ increasing. This is the first month that towables have risen since last summer, and although motorhomes have varied month to month, their general trend is downward. Auction volume was up, and several RV dealers have told us they are stocking up to be ready for the Spring rush,” said Eric Lawrence with Black Book.
Taking a closer look at the markets, we see that the average selling price for motorized units was $53,551, which is down $9,049 (14.4%) from the previous month. Towables came in at $18,329, up $452 (2.5%) from last month. One year ago the average motorhome sold for $67,539 and the average towable unit brought $19,541.
Auction volume was up: motorhomes increased 1.7% while towables rose 14.2%.
The average age of motorhomes was ten years old (2014) and towables was five (2019).
