Black Book: Wholesale Values Increase Across the Board in June

Black Book released its monthly commentary for July.

“The values for used RVs sold at wholesale auction increased last month, with motorhomes jumping quite a bit and towables inching up slightly. The motorhome increase looks dramatic, but an in-depth analysis of the sales data showed that there was an unusually high number of late model higher end Class A units that ran through the lanes, which had the effect of pushing the average sales price artificially higher,” said Eric Lawrence, principal analyst at Black Book.

Taking a closer look at the markets, we see that the average selling price for Motorhomes was $75,821, which is up $12,796 (20.3%) from the previous month.  Towables came in at $17,892, up $114 (0.6%) from last month.  One year ago the average motorhome sold for $58,411 and the average towable brought $19,389.

Auction volume was higher: motorhomes increased 3.7% while towables rose 1.0%.

The average age of motorhomes was nine years old (2016) and towables was five (2020).
