California RV Show Attendance Increases 12%
The 2019 California RV Show launched at a new venue that exceeded expectations, according to the RV Industry Association, registering an all-time attendance record of 45,112 at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana.
The event has more than doubled in size over the past nine years.
The attendance total for the 67th event was an increase of more than 12 percent versus last year’s event at the Los Angeles Fairplex in Pomona, Calif. The first Saturday of the event also set a single-day record, with more than 10,000 attendees through the gates. Throughout the 10-day show, the record number of attendees displayed a very positive outlook about the industry and were excited to learn more about the lifestyle and find a great deal on a new RV, according to RVIA.
This year’s event featured more than 1 million square feet of display space with more than 40 manufacturers showcasing more than 1,000 motorized and towable RVs.
The Auto Club Speedway is less than 20 miles from the show’s previous location and offered more amenities for exhibitors and attendees including free parking, quality concessions, and built-in restrooms, RVIA said.
For the new venue, a wide layout that mirrored the grandstands of the Speedway was created, allowing attendees to find the exhibits they were seeking. With the magnitude and distance of the show, the event offered parking lot trams to take attendees to the gates as well as golf cart trolleys once attendees were inside the show.
Next year’s event is planned for Oct. 2-11 at the Auto Club Speedway.
