Camping World Holdings has announced plans for stores in two states, one through the acquisition of an existing dealership group and the other through new construction.

The company has signed an agreement acquiring multi-location Hilltop RV Superstore, with dealerships in Escanaba and Ishpeming, Mich. The acquisition is anticipated to close in May 2021.

“Michigan is consistently a strong market for the RV and outdoor enthusiast,” said Marcus Lemonis, CEO and chairman of Camping World Holdings. “This acquisition expands our reach into the upper peninsula of Michigan and allows us to bring our assortment closer to the consumer to fulfill their needs.”

The upcoming facilities are located at 2905 North Lincoln Road in Escanaba and 600 U.S. Highway 41 West in Ishpeming. The SuperCenters will include a wide range of new and used RVs from various manufacturers in addition to a full assortment of RV and outdoor products and accessories. The company will have six locations in Michigan once the acquisition is complete.

The company has also announced an agreement to acquire approximately nine acres of land off of Interstate 80 in Cheyenne, Wy., for development of a new SuperCenter location. This location will be the retailer’s first in the state of Wyoming, with an anticipated opening in late 2021/early 2022.

“We are excited to open our first location in the State of Wyoming as we propel toward our goal of a national recreational dealer platform in all 48 contiguous states,” said Lemonis. “Each location we open across the U.S. represents significant economic impact for the communities and convenient customer service and products for the 5.3 million active customers we serve. We are looking forward to developing this land and making Cheyenne our new home.”
