Jonathan Stone of Stone’s RV Centre with locations in Canada’s New Glasgow and Sydney, Nova Scotia, was presented with the prestigious 2025 Canadian RV Dealer of the Year Award at the RVDA of Canada’s Annual Meeting, held at the RV Dealers Convention/Expo in Las Vegas.
Stone was both deeply honored and pleasantly surprised to receive this prestigious recognition, RVDA of Canada said. The Walter Paseska Memorial Canadian RV Dealer of the Year Award was presented to him by Melanie Taylor of RV Lifestyle/Dealer News Magazine.
“I am truly humbled to receive the Canadian RV Dealer of the Year Award. This recognition is not just for me, but for my entire team, my family, and the many customers who have trusted and supported us over the years. Their dedication, loyalty, and passion are what make this possible, and I am proud to carry forward the legacy of service and commitment that my parents and grandfather began over 50 years ago,” said Stone.
Each year, the RVDA of Canada, in conjunction with RV Lifestyle Magazine and Dealer News, invites nominations from across Canada for the Canadian RV Dealer of the Year Award. The award is dedicated to the memory of the late Walt Paseska, founder of Walt’s Trailer Sales in Headingley, Manitoba, in recognition of his many years of commitment and dedication to the RV industry. Since established in 1989 by Camping Canada Magazine, this award has been presented to individuals who share Walt’s enthusiasm and commitment, in recognition of their long-term contribution to the RV lifestyle, and commitment to the community as a whole.
The award is presented to a candidate who has:
- Demonstrated long-term dedication to the RV industry and promotion of the RV lifestyle by the acting dealer principal of a recognized full-service RV dealership
- Shown commitment and participation in the RVDA at the provincial or national level;
- Been recognized by customers and peers as a person with the highest integrity and credibility in both work and personal life, and
- Made a contribution to their community.
Stone is the president and co-owner of Stone’s RV & Home Center, a distinguished, family-owned business in Nova Scotia. With leadership responsibilities spanning both the recreational vehicle and modular home markets, Stone plays a key role in guiding the company’s enduring commitment to quality, customer service, and community trust. Under his direction, Stone’s RV & Home Center continues to strengthen its reputation as a leader in both industries.
Stone represents Nova Scotia on the RVDA of Canada Board of Directors, where he contributes to national industry advocacy and the development of best practices. He also serves as a director of the Atlantic RV Dealers Association (ARVDA), a board member of Go RVing Canada and is a former president of the Manufactured Housing Association of Atlantic Canada (MHAAC).
Through these roles, he actively supports industry growth, regulatory engagement, and the advancement of high standards across the RV and manufactured housing sectors.
A third-generation leader, Stone co-owns and manages Stone’s alongside his sisters, Chantal and Danielle. The company was founded over 50 years ago by their parents, Kim and Anne Stone, together with grandfather Hector Stone, and continues to embody the family’s values of trust, personal service, and community involvement.
As president, Stone oversees all major operational areas, including sales, customer service, and strategic partnerships, across both the RV and manufactured housing divisions. His leadership ensures that Stone’s RV continues to evolve while preserving the family’s legacy of quality and personalized service.
Under Jonathan’s guidance, the family business has earned significant regional recognition, including the 2013 Pictou County Chamber of Commerce Large Business of the Year Award, accepted by Jonathan and his sisters on behalf of the family. Jonathan Stone’s father Kim was the recipient of the 2006 Canadian RV Dealer of the Year Award.
Beyond his professional commitments, Stone is deeply engaged in his community and has dedicated many years to supporting local hockey programs, reflecting the Stone family’s commitment to giving back.
