Caravan Salon ’24 To Surpass Last Year’s Exhibit Space

Caravan Salon

The Caravan Salon trade fair is the European RV industry’s largest annual gathering, and this year’s dates are Aug. 30 (Preview Day) to Sept. 8 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

In 16 halls and an outdoor area, all facets of the world of mobile leisure will be presented. Over 700 exhibitors will showcase motorhomes, caravans and camper vans as well as accessories and the matching tourism offers, ensuring brand and product diversity on 250,000 square meters of exhibit space.

“We are very proud to have surpassed last year’s record figures yet again and can announce a new record for rented space. Our halls and the outdoor area are fully booked, which for our visitors above all means even more product diversity and choice. This underlines Caravan Salon’s top position among leisure trade fairs worldwide and should therefore be a firm date in all caravanning enthusiasts’ calendars,” said Caravan Salon Director Stefan Koschke.

Market Overview & Trending Themes

Caravan Salon Düsseldorf is one of the world’s largest platforms for industry experts to exchange ideas and make contacts, while also presenting mobile leisure fans the latest technology and developments in caravanning as well as a market overview and information on the current trend themes.

“The possibilities in Düsseldorf are virtually unlimited. Whether newcomers or passionate camping fans — they will all find the right vehicles or complementary accessories. The choice is unrivaled and unique with an offering that’s unmatched worldwide,” said Koschke.

New Hall Layout

To give visitors an even better overview of the ranges on offer, the hall layout has changed slightly this year. Hall 7 will become the center for national and international regions, destinations and campsite and RV pitches with the motto “Travel & Nature.” The “Travel & Nature CONNECTED” stage will entertain visitors with a combination of entertainment and presentations revolving around destinations and leisure activities. This will make room for a larger “Equipment & Outdoor” offering in Hall 3.

In addition to roof-top tents, pop-up caravans, folding and trailer tents as well as tents and awnings, equipment and accessories related to the outdoor and camping experience will attract visitors to this hall, show organizers said. The “Starter World” for all beginners and newcomers will move to the outdoor space (between Halls 10 and 17).

Caravanning Is Synonymous With Quality of Life, Freedom & Choice

“More and more people want to go on vacation with a caravan or motorhome. This development has been evident for over a decade and has not even lost momentum under the current difficult circumstances. Quite on the contrary: the longing for nature and recreation is on the rise and has given enormous significance to mobile holidays in our society. Caravanning is not only considered a leisure activity but also a symbol of quality of life, freedom and choice. As the world-leading trade fair, Caravan Salon brings together the entire spectrum of our sector in one place, which is why there’s something new to be discovered in Düsseldorf for both caravanning newcomers and seasoned camping enthusiasts,” explained Daniel Onggowinarso, general manager of the Caravanning Industry Association (CIVD).

Dialogue Platform for Professionals / Extended B2B Conference Agenda

Caravan Salon no longer just focuses on products and services, show organizers said, but has also developed into a key dialogue and networking platform in recent years.

“Due to strong demand, we will be further expanding the conference area for professionals and experts. In addition to the proven formats ‘Symposium Natur.Tourismus.Zukunft’ (Symposium Nature.Tourism.Future), ‘Deutscher Stellplatztag’ (German Pitch Day) and ‘Fachforum Wandern’ (Expert Forum Hiking) we will organize the ‘Camping Destination Day’ for the first time. Here, various examples and best practices will be shared to highlight the development stages on the path towards innovative caravanning destinations. Trade fairs are ideal places to organize conferences, studies and symposia, and we very much welcome the fact that Caravan Salon has developed into a lively forum for the exchange with political and tourism decision makers,” said Koschke.

The B2B program will be rounded off by two new evening events: the Innovation Stage and the “Travel Industry meets Caravaning” networking platform.

Starter World & Self-Conversion Adventure

To make a visit to the trade fair an experience for the entire family, the Caravan Salon team has again put together an entertainment program revolving around mobile leisure. The most popular items on the agenda include the Dream Tour Cinema, the European Outdoor Film Tour (EOFT), the e-bike concourse and a large fun and games program for kids.

For all beginners, the “Starter World” in the outdoor space will inform about what to watch for prior to purchasing or renting motorhomes and caravans. Unbiased advice will be key here. The varied stage line-up will focus on many attractive topics for motorhome or caravan trips in addition to the basics. Experts will answer questions and provide one-on-one advice.

At the “Self-Conversion Adventure” on the outdoor area in front of Halls 13 and 14, individualists and hobbyists will get practical tips for refitting or converting vehicles into motorhomes. Various daily lectures for beginner, advanced and professional attendees will address all the topics of interest for converters and DIY-fans.

Caravan Center With 3,500 Pitches

The Caravan Center (large Car Park P1) will offer 3,500 serviced and unserviced pitches during Caravan Salon. Between 60,000 and 70,000 overnight stays are planned during the trade fair.

The Caravan Salon online ticket shop will open on June 11 at caravan-salon.com.
