Cleer Vision Tempered Glass (CVTG), the Elkhart-based glass fabricator, completed its 28,000-square-foot expansion. The additional space, which brings the company’s footprint to 65,000 square feet, houses its new automated insulating glass line, additional cutting capacity, and serves as its primary loading and shipping area.

It is the company’s second expansion in three years.

General Manager Tim Widner expects that its number of employees could grow to approximately 70 after the facility is fully operational following the addition. “This expansion is going to add a lot of space,” he said. “There’s a lot of opportunity to grow in it.”

“We found our niche in volume,” Widner said. “That’s our specialty.” This includes supplying for manufacturers of specialty doors and other systems used in commercial spaces, such as, restaurants and retail. This niche market, Widner says, calls for repetitive orders of similar sizes and makeups, which fits the company’s volume-based approach well.
