Cloverdale/Indianapolis West KOA Journey Joins KOA Family of Campgrounds
Kampgrounds of America, Inc. (KOA) announces the acquisition of the Cloverdale/Indianapolis West KOA Journey. The Carpenter family brings years of successful KOA campground ownership through their operation of the Brown County/Nashville KOA Holiday, KOA said. With close family ties to the area and a passion for providing high-quality camping experiences, the Carpenters said they are excited to bring their expertise and energy to this newly acquired park.
Located a mile off I-70 and on 27 acres of hills, streams and nature trails, the Cloverdale/Indianapolis West KOA Journey campground sits halfway between downtown Indianapolis and Terre Haute and is a short drive to attractions like the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Lucas Oil Stadium and Cagles Mill Lake.
“We’re excited to expand our KOA journey with a campground that brings us closer to our children and to a region we truly love,” said Shawn Carpenter of the Cloverdale/Indianapolis West KOA Journey. “This campground gives us the opportunity to do more than offer a night’s rest — we can connect travelers with everything this community has to offer, from rodeos and racing, to historic bridges and scenic trails.”
Campgrounds have a significant economic and cultural impact on local communities. According to KOA’s annual Camping and Outdoor Hospitality Report, campers injected $61 billion into local economies in 2024, with the average camper spending $200 daily while camping. Campers are looking to experience the culture of local regions, with 27% of campers saying they are interested in visiting small towns, and another 27% drawn to food tourism.
Located near the highways and byways of North America, KOA Journey campgrounds have long pull-thru RV sites for quick and easy setup, well-lit after-hours check-in and a robust line of RV supplies.
The Cloverdale/Indianapolis West KOA Journey offers 50-amp full hookup RV sites, an EV charging station, upgraded Wi-Fi, and cozy cabins surrounding a fishing pond. Guests can enjoy an 18-hole disc golf course, ping pong, a camp store, community room, coin laundry, dog-walking trails, a Kamp K9 dog park and a playground. Future plans include expanding with more RV sites and Deluxe Cabins to enhance the overall guest experience.
The Cloverdale/Indianapolis West KOA Journey is one of more than 500 open-to-the-public KOA campgrounds in the U.S. and Canada. Located at 2789 E County Rd 800 S in Cloverdale, Indiana, the Cloverdale/Indianapolis West KOA Journey is open all year.
