Coachmen RV Introduces European-Inspired Hybrid Motorhome
Coachmen RV, a division of Forest River, announced the debut of Origin, a new hybrid motorhome. Origin takes the success Coachmen has found with Euro and reimagines those qualities in a completely new way, this time built on the more versatile E-450 Class C chassis rather than a traditional Class A platform, Forest River said in a recent release.

Unlike a typical Class C, which is built around an existing truck cab and interior, Origin was designed completely from scratch, bumper to bumper. A custom front cap features a windshield more than 2½ times the size of one found on a traditional Class C or Class B, giving owners the nimble size of a Class C or van paired with the visibility and safety expected from a Class A, Forest River said.
Inspiration for Origin came from outside the RV industry, drawing on the design language of Tesla, Lamborghini, Hublot and high-end yachts. The goal was to create a motorhome that looked and felt unique inside and out, from the paint and exterior profile to the seating and interior finishes, the company said.
The driver and passenger seats are custom-designed with handpicked fabrics and unique stitching that mirror what customers would find in a luxury automobile. The couch is built with a European profile that conceals two recliners and features a lay-flat design. Paired with the overhead bunk, Origin sleeps as many people as motorhomes nearly twice its size, all while maintaining its luxury look.
Lighter composite cabinetry, vinyl-wrapped rather than finished with traditional seam tape, rounds out the European-inspired interior and saves weight while improving long-term durability.

Origin was built to solve what Class C and Class B buyers have traditionally had to choose between. Class C owners want ease of driving and the ability to sleep more people, while Class B owners want functionality, easy handling and usable rear storage. Origin delivers both in a Class A, Forest River said.
The custom cockpit offers improved visibility and an automotive feel behind the wheel, including a 14-inch backup camera with a split-screen display so drivers can monitor their surroundings and navigation at the same time.
The biggest departure from anything else in the category is the rear of the motorhome. Origin will offer a rear split deck, working like a clamshell, with the lower half folding down into a usable deck and the upper half folding up to open the entire back of the coach.
The deck includes integrated railing and has a 1,200-pound weight limit, giving owners a place to cook outside, relax or store gear such as an e-bike or surfboard. The rear beds fold up to create additional interior storage space.

At just 27 feet long, Origin adds nearly 3 feet of usable length without a single slide, all while sleeping six and offering storage for larger gear inside the coach.
“This project challenged us to think differently about every aspect of motorhome design,” said Mike McIntire, general manager. “We focused on creating something that feels intentional at every level, combining modern European influence with practical innovation. The result is a motorhome that delivers a more refined experience while maintaining the strength and reliability customers expect for the road ahead.”
The new model will debut with a single floorplan, with plans to expand the lineup in the future, Forest River said. Origin is designed for buyers who prioritize longevity, premium materials and thoughtful design, with a sleek, European-inspired interior paired with a clean, refined exterior profile.
