Community: Dometic to Raise Awareness with 1,000 Teddy Bears

Since partnering with Care Camps last August and creating the Dometic Capital Fund, Dometic has been able to help send children affected by cancer to a safe, fun camp environment.

Dometic invites RVX attendees to visit its booth and take part in its fundraising campaign, which includes 1,000 teddy bears to give away.

In addition, at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, Care Camps is hosting the power talk patio session called, “Do Well by Doing Good: Leveraging Corporate Social Responsibility to Improve the Bottom Line.” Director of Dometic Marketing, Laura Petee, has been invited to participate on the panel.

“Being able to share our passion for the outdoors and our mission to satisfy the essential needs of others while they are away from home with children and families fighting cancer is a natural fit for Dometic,” said Petee. “For us, it is more than just corporate social responsibility; it is an opportunity to deeply connect our mission with those in need.”

Since partnering with Care Camps in 2018, Dometic has been able to support various Care Camps events and outings for the kids through the Dometic Capital Fund.

“The Dometic partnership is very unique for Care Camps,” said Wade Elliott, board chairman of KOA Care Camps. “We know from research that children with cancer who attend camp have improved treatment outcomes. … Dometic has worked hand-in-hand with Care Camps to find creative ways to close a gap of more than $300,000 for unfunded repairs in camps throughout North America. They have been one of our most passionate supporters to help make sure that any child with cancer has the opportunity to experience the hope and healing that we know camping brings.”
