Community: LCI Builds Chair for Tall Teen

A Michigan Center man who once held the title as the world’s tallest male teen is relaxing in a new custom-made chair from Lippert Components.

This story by Cryss Walker originally appeared on WILX News 10.

Broc Brown and his family said they are so grateful for his new chair because he suffers from a genetic disorder that is not only the cause behind his height but also the source of his muscle aches and discomfort.

They say this donation is more than just a chair but also a token of relief.

“It’s so nice to see him comfortable,” said Brown’s Aunt Stacy Snyder. “Usually when he sits down his knees are up into his chest.”

Last week, the 21-year-old received a special delivery: a five-foot chair that sits up like a throne to help him relax his 500-pound frame.

“Lippert Components out of Goshen, Ind., made the chair for him,” said Snyder. “I had received a message on Facebook from Bill Snodgrass and he’s a representative from the company and he asked if they could make Broc a chair.”

A chair Brown’s aunt says will take the pressure off his knees to alleviate the pain he feels from a rare genetic disorder.
