Cortes Campers Drives Revenue Spike for US Lighting Group
US Lighting Group, the holding company for Cortes Campers LLC, said Monday that it recorded revenue of more than $1 million in 2022. That unaudited amount compares with just $76,000 in revenue in 2021 from the company’s discontinued LED lighting and vehicle electronics business, according to its annual report.
The huge jump was driven by the expansion of Cortes Campers’ dealership base, the company said.
“As we turn the corner on 2022, it’s important to note the solid foundation built this past year to prepare the company for greater revenue and improved underlying performance going forward,” said Anthony Corpora, US Lighting’s CEO and president, in a statement.
Most of the company’s 2022 revenue came from the Cortes Campers business, which shipped its first 17-foot molded fiberglass camper trailer in February 2022. US Lighting did not say when it expected to report audited 2022 results.
“We remain focused on increasing our rate of production, shipping Cortes Campers to meet burgeoning demand, and executing on a growth strategy designed to heighten consumer awareness,” Corpora said.
In 2021, US Lighting got out of the LED lighting business to enter the market for “composite products and structures for the outdoor, active lifestyle, the company said in its statement.
eewFor now, that means molded fiberglass Cortes Camper trailers; but soon will be UFO-like, off-grid Futuro Houses; and Fusion X Marine speed boats.
The company is building its first Futuro House model for display at the Great Big Home + Garden Show at Cleveland’s I-X Center in early March, Patricia Salaciak, marketing director for US Lighting, said in an email.
