Cummins is one of several large Indiana manufacturers conducting its own mass vaccinations against COVID-19.

The company started at its headquarters last week, along with four other facilities in Indiana, after which it would expand to its other U.S. locations, according to reports.

Along with employees, the company’s site offered vaccines to contingent workers, spouses and dependents age 16 and up.

The Indiana State Department of Health recently said it was working with certain large Hoosier businesses on implementing their own COVID-19 vaccination clinics, according to Inside Indiana Business.

“The majority of these companies have in-house or third-party health partners who administer the vaccinations to their employees and the sites will receive primarily the Pfizer vaccine,” Dr. Lindsay Weaver, chief medical officer for the ISDH, told the news outlet.

Cummins employs about 10,000 people in Indiana, including about 8,000 in the Columbus area.
