Cummins Inc. recently received the Governor’s Century Business Award for being in operation since 1919, according to Indiana Rep. Ryan Lauer (R-Columbus).
This story by Mike King originally appeared in Local News Digital.
“Cummins originally started out in a garage and now they are an internationally renowned engine manufacturer and technology leader,” Lauer said. “Remaining in operation for over 100 years is extraordinary, and Columbus is fortunate to be the home of an industry leader that provides jobs to Hoosiers and reinvests in our community and state.”
The awards recognize Hoosier businesses that have remained in continuous operation in Indiana for at least 50 or 100 consecutive years and demonstrated a commitment to community service.
