Demco recently acquired the balance of the stock of Maurer Mfg., makers of trailer and agricultural equipment, from Lakes Enterprises, purchasing Maurer Mfg. in its entirety.

Demco and a group of investors acquired Maurer Mfg. from Bob and Peg Maurer in 2000, forming Lakes Enterprises, which operated with the brand name Maurer Mfg.

Since that time, Demco and Maurer each operated as separate companies with individual management teams for either company, while at the same time sharing many resources between the companies when possible, according to a news release.

Demco will continue to operate the manufacturing facilities in Boyden and Spencer, Iowa.

“The Spencer facility provides us the opportunity to work in two different communities in northwest Iowa,” the company said in a news release. “This also affords Demco the opportunity to expand our labor force into a larger geographic area and to source the very best labor talent available for positions in manufacturing, clerical, administrative, transportation, and throughout either location of the company.”

Maurer products will continue to be marketed under the Maurer brand and Demco products will continue to be marketed under the Demco brand.
