Desire for Caravanning Remains Strong at German Reise + Camping Show

The following is a report from AboutCampBtoB.com.

The 2025 edition of Reise + Camping closed its doors after five successful days of welcoming campers, caravanners and outdoor adventurers to the Messe Essen in Germany from Feb. 19 to 23.

The show coexists alongside cycling show, Fahrrad Essen, with both events attracting a combined 80,000 visitors through their doors to see a total of around 750 exhibitors.

“The market figures clearly show that more and more people are enthusiastic about outdoor experiences and mobile travel,” said Oliver P. Kuhrt, managing director of show organizers Messe Essen.

“We also felt this in the exhibition halls. Our guests took the opportunity to find out more about trends and to talk directly to providers. Vehicles, national and international tourism, e-bikes and alternative forms of travel such as van life were particularly in demand this year.”

Reise + Camping showcased the latest trends in the RV, camping and mobile homes market across four different halls, with a focus on innovative solutions that make traveling on wheels even more comfortable.

Smart room designs for caravans or particularly energy-efficient mobile homes showed how creatively the camping industry is developing.

“We are delighted with the response to our mobile homes and tiny houses, said Francis van de Waarsenburg, managing director at Eco-House.

“Reise + Camping offers us the perfect platform to present our concept of environmentally friendly living to a broad audience. After the second day of the trade fair, we already had three inquiries about planning and equipping campsites with our mobile homes. We therefore definitely want to be there again next year.”

The show also hosted Croatia as a partner country and had a special area focused on Scandinavian destinations too.

“For us as a partner country, Reise + Camping 2025 was a great opportunity to present our unique offers to a wide audience, said Kristjan Staničićdeal, managing director of the Croatian National Tourist Board.

“We were very pleased with the enthusiasm for our coastal regions, the national parks and the diverse camping options. Croatia offers ideal conditions for nature lovers, adventurers and those seeking relaxation alike. We had numerous inspiring discussions and look forward to welcoming even more guests to our beautiful country.”
