Troy Nusbaum, director of OEM sales for Dicor Corp., has raised more than $110,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Michiana. Nusbaum participated in the “Men in Kilts” campaign for RMHC.

The annual Men in Kilts fundraiser featured volunteers raising money, while dressed in a kilt, by visiting people and companies and asking for their support. Fundraising began in June. On Oct. 5, at the McDazzle Gala, it was announced that Nusbaum raised a record $110,000 only to learn moments later that another Men in Kilt finished with over $120,000.

“I am very proud to have been a part of the Men in Kilts fundraiser,” said Nusbaum. “I met some great people during this process including patient’s families. I also want to congratulate the winner Tim Chapman and all the Men in Kilts, as together we set a fundraising record. I am so honored to be part of an organization that provides light, hope and love of others”.

The Ronald McDonald House charity provides a place of respite and overnight stay for parents or legal guardians of seriously ill or injured children (newborn to 21) receiving medical treatment. While the hospital takes care of the children, Ronald McDonald House provides a place for families to relax or sleep or eat a hot meal or grab a shower. The facility provides day rooms, three kitchens, computer hook-ups, laundry rooms and 20 overnight rooms among other services all at no charge.
