Dometic Extends Reach into Marine Market with Treeline Acquisition

Dometic

Dometic has entered into an agreement to acquire Alabama-based Treeline Capital, a company that sells products into the North American marine market under the brand names CDI Electronics and Balmar.

Under those two brands, Treeline offers engine ignition replacement parts, DC charging systems and battery monitoring systems for boats, among other product categories. Dometic notes that the market for mobile power solutions is growing significantly, which led to this acquisition.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Treeline had net sales of more than $16 million, about 75 percent of which came through the service and aftermarket channel.

CDI Electronics and Balmar’s products are primarily sold in North America through an extensive network of distributors and marine aftermarket dealers. The offering also includes a proprietary engine diagnostic software that is licensed and used by more than 1,200 marine aftermarket dealers across North America.

Treeline has approximately 70 employees and is headquartered in Huntsville, Ala.
