Duane Spader to Be Honored with Titan Award

Spader Business Management Founder Duane Spader will be honored with the national RV Dealers Association’s Titan Award on Nov. 13. The award will be presented at the RVDA Annual Meeting, held Nov. 11-15 in conjunction with RV Dealers Convention Expo at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

The Titan Award recognizes Duane Spader’s vision, leadership, and guidance which have helped RV dealers achieve business and individual success, according to the organization.

“This award is a way for the RVDA board of directors to honor Duane for all the help he has provided to RV dealers over the years,” said RVDA Chairman of the Board Mike Regan of Crestview RV Center. “There are many dealers who would tell you that they may not be in business if not for Duane’s guidance. Through his company, Spader Business Management, Duane has had a positive impact on more than 20,000 dealership employees and their families.”

Inducted into the RV/MH Hall of Fame in 2004 and a recipient of RVDA’s James B. Summers Award in 1990, Spader is a founding member of RVDA, serving as president in 1974 to 1975. He is widely recognized for developing the RVDA/Spader 20 Group program.

Spader worked steadily to create a franchise-like model for dealerships by creating a top-to-bottom management system. Eventually, Spader, along with his bookkeeper, Noel Lais, developed the financial tools and equations that serve as the cornerstone of the company’s Total Management system.

Based in Sioux Falls, S.D., Spader Business Management is a primary resource for one-on-one coaching and consulting, through 20 Groups, key management training programs, and performance tools for improved business efficiency.

“Duane has had a lasting impact on RV retailing and was instrumental in forging a strong relationship with RVDA that continues to this day,” said RVDA President Phil Ingrassia. “We look forward to celebrating this award with Duane, his family, and his many friends and business associates during the upcoming RV Dealers Convention/Expo.”
