Due North announced a strategic partnership with Germany-based OPES Solar Mobility GmbH, bringing the company’s advanced solar technology to the U.S. recreational vehicle market for the first time, Due North said in a release.
At the center of OPES’ patented solar design is advanced Matrix Technology, engineered for mobile applications to maximize active surface area and maintain energy production when portions of a panel are shaded. Research from the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE found that Matrix architecture delivered significantly higher energy yield under partial-shading conditions compared with conventional cell interconnections.
“From the first time we saw the technology, we knew OPES had something different,” said James Witty, co-founder of Due North. “It means a lot that OPES chose Due North to bring its technology to the U.S. We know this market well, and we believe this is a product that can make a real impact here.”
The partnership expands Due North’s Power portfolio, one of the company’s three product platforms alongside Materials and Experience. Through these platforms, Due North works with manufacturers and technology partners to bring differentiated products to market.

OPES solar products will be available to U.S. RV manufacturers through Due North.
