Like many RV suppliers, Northwest Interiors, maker of draperies, pillows, shams and bedspreads for the RV industry, finds itself outgrowing its facility, the Elkhart Truth reports.

The company will break ground soon on an expansion that will add about 50 percent to the company’s warehouse off Pine Creek Court.

“You can imagine, production of buildings is starting to crank up because of what the economy is doing,” Owner Jim Mellott told the Elkhart Truth.

The company finds itself outgrowing its current 24,000-square-foot facility built in 2005, and will add 11,000 square-feet.

Mellot doesn’t attribute the success of his business to the size of his company, but to the accounts they value.

“Our strategy has been very simple,” Jim said in the report. “Every account we’ve ever gotten here is an account that somebody else, usually bigger than us, could not do. They screwed it up or didn’t get deliveries right, or the (RV manufacturer didn’t like the quality. That’s where we’ve swooped in and taken them over.”
