Engine 23 Aims to Bolster E-Commerce for Suppliers
It may not sound like it, but for a while, the ice cream and motorcycle industries had something in common. Both were in need of e-commerce sprucing. That was until Engine 23 stepped in.
Founded by Ryan Miller, the boutique firm found e-commerce solutions for both industries, shipping ice cream (eCreamery) and motor parts (Spiegler USA) where they needed to be by utilizing sleek web user interfaces and streamlining organization.
So, when Miller heard an anecdote about an RVing couple that was stranded for two weeks, waiting on RV parts, he saw a new opportunity.
“Problems are always unique in each industry,” said Miller. “With RVing, my understanding is that there’s trouble locating the parts, and then getting them from point A to point B in a timeframe in which people can get back on the road. Because they’re on the road, that timeframe needs to be much smaller than, say, motorcycles.”
Engine 23 is looking to optimize how fast RV parts can get to dealerships and service centers so that wait times of two weeks go down to two days.
“We’ve gone as far as automating a lot of the systems hooking up to hundreds of drop-shippers to make that much easier on the individual dealers,” said Miller. “That way they’re not having to track all of this. It just magically shows up. There’s a lot of different fronts that we help people on: SEO, all the way from technical pieces with Google, all the way through more social pieces like market outreach.”
Engine 23 is currently on a mission to hear from RV enthusiasts, already reaching out to people in North Carolina, Michigan, Colorado and California. Miller’s hope is that suppliers will experience an increase in revenue by automating their online presence through Engine 23.
“Over these years, we put together a large set of technologies and solutions, and we’ve got a lot of happy customers with that,” said Miller. “(So we ask), ‘What industry do we have all of the pieces already that we can really make a difference in?’ We looked around at a lot of different industries. The RV industry is a match made in heaven.”
