Erwin Hymer Cancels Trade Show Attendance Through 2020

Erwin Hymer Group said it will not be attending any of the European trade shows throughout the remainder of 2020.

The company, which is the largest single RV maker in Europe and offers 20 brands, said it “does not make sense” to participate, given COVID-19 looming and the density of crowds that is a hallmark of trade shows.

“The health of our customers, employees and trade partners is our top priority – we cannot take this responsibility lightly,” said Martin Brandt, CEO of the Erwin Hymer Group. “In the corona crisis – with its special requirements for physical distance and hygiene – a casual atmosphere of information, advice and purchases is no longer a given. However, we regard this as a fundamental prerequisite for a successful trade fair. For this reason, we as EHG together with our brands refrain from participating in all trade fairs planned for 2020.”

One of the ones the company will miss is the world’s largest leisure trade fair, the Caravan Salon Düsseldorf, which is scheduled to take place at the beginning of September.

Erwin Hymer has more than 1,200 trading partners in Germany and Europe. The company was acquired by THOR Industries, North America’s largest RV maker, in early 2019.
