Erwin Hymer Group Appoints New Board Chairman at Bürstner

Bürstner, a company of the Erwin Hymer Group, the European subsidiary of THOR Industries, is reorganizing itself: Hubert Brandl is taking over as chairman of the management board at Bürstner with immediate effect and, together with Alexander Kasteleiner, commercial director at Bürstner, will be responsible for the business of the long-established caravan and motorhome manufacturer based in Kehl.

Brandl

Brandl is taking over the Sales & Production divisions at Bürstner in addition to his duties as managing director at Niesmann+Bischoff, a manufacturer of luxury motorhomes based in Polch, Germany, and is relying on an experienced management team. The previous Managing Directors Jens Kromer and Olaf Sackers are leaving the company by mutual agreement.

Alexander Leopold, CEO of the Erwin Hymer Group, said, “We would like to thank Jens Kromer and Olaf Sackers for their work in recent years and the continuous development of the Bürstner brand. Especially in the camper van and urban vehicle segment, the market share of the Bürstner brand has been continuously increased. In order to further utilize Bürstner’s potential and optimally position the company for the future, cross-divisional decisions and measures are required, which will be bundled in the role of chairman of the management board in the future. We are convinced that Hubert Brandl will provide the brand with significant impetus.”

With Brandl, an industry expert with a wealth of experience is taking the helm at Bürstner. The business administration graduate recognized the potential of the Bürstner brand at a young age in his parents’ trading company in Straubing and ensured that it was included in the product portfolio. After two years as a board officer at Tabbert Industries AG and marketing manager for the Tabbert brand, he was appointed managing director of Tabbert Caravan GmbH in 2001. There he was responsible for the successful reorientation of the brand. In 2006, Erwin Hymer then brought him to Niesmann+Bischoff as managing director. His appointment marked the beginning of an unparalleled success story for the manufacturer of luxury motorhomes, the company said, which continues to this day.

The new responsibility for Bürstner closes a circle for Brandl, who said, “Bürstner has accompanied my professional life for many years. As with Niesmann+Bischoff, I see a brand with great potential. I am looking forward to the task and the co-operation with our employees at Bürstner. Together we will set the course for a successful future.”
