Take RVs, for example.
Many people are now looking into buying RV trailers and motorhomes as another way to isolate themselves and their families during this health crisis.
“We are also seeing a shift in buyers,” said Salem Hassan, owner of Travelcamp of Jacksonville, “where people are now entering the shopping and research phase of RV ownership with the idea that it can be a more relaxed and safer way to enjoy a vacation versus some of the traditional options that place people in more proximity to others. RVing provides for more isolation.”
Travelcamp is one of Florida’s premier towable RV dealers with locations in Jacksonville, Orange Park, Ocala and Savannah.
The dealerships remain open as the staff is staying pro-active with social distancing and keeping the facility sanitized. However, some buyers may still be hesitant to step onto the lot.
“We have adapted by placing major emphasis on home delivery,” Hassan said. “Much of our recent business has been a mix, including out-of-state customers, where we are delivering to the state line or to their homes.”
With an overall goal to maintain the entire staff through the crisis, Travelcamp has managed to avoid layoffs by reducing employee hours.
